A Fine Portrait (second state) Engraving by Pierre Drevet (1663-1738) after the painting in 1693 by the leading French Royal Court
painter: Hyacinthe Rigaud (1659-1743)
Sitter: Jean Balthazar Keller of Zurich, Switzerland – a master founder. He points to his foundry and the equestrian statue he modelled for
Louis X1V. This was cast in one piece, which had never been achieved before. It stood in the Place Vendome until it was destroyed during
the French Revolution in August 1792
He succeeded his brother Jean-Jaques in becoming the Master Founder of all Artillery for France. The two brothers made thousands of Keller
cannons between them for the French Empire
